During this time of year, I would prefer to go somewhere cooler than Las Vegas (where the temperatures can reach 120 degrees!) Among other things, I needed to replace my home’s water heater. Due to this, I had to spend most of my travel funds on this purpose. Still, I needed a break, so I returned home to San Dimas, but I took a 3-day detour to San Diego before I got home! Though it has been a challenging experience, I have learned some valuable lessons. There may be hiccups in life and travel plans may detour, but the journey is never over!
The city of San Diego is also one of my favorites. Making this my home base would be a dream come true… Wouldn’t it be nice if I could afford it! But that’s another story. Here are some things you can do if you’re staying in the lovely area for a few days.
Day 1: Harbor Exploration and Kansas City Barbecue
Arrived at Wyndham San Diego Bayside, with its stunning waterfront views. Explored the harbor, enjoying a leisurely walk and capturing breathtaking views of the ocean. Later, had a delectable meal at Kansas City Barbecue, known for its Top Gun filming location.
Day 2: Gaslamp District Nightlife and Shout House
Ventured into the vibrant Gaslamp District, where historic charm meets lively nightlife. Explored local bars, immersing in the energetic atmosphere. The highlight of the night was at the Shout House, a lively piano bar with sing-alongs and engaging performances.
Day 3: Liberty Station Art Show Finale
Wrapped up the trip at Liberty Station, soaking in the artistic vibes at an outdoor art show. Explored the diverse artworks and enjoyed the creative atmosphere. The perfect way to conclude an unforgettable three-day adventure in San Diego.
